Control your OBS from My OBS

With the EnhancedIRL Switcher plugin you run the OBS at your house from My OBS: you switch scenes, start and stop the stream and touch the audio from the dashboard or your phone, wherever you are.

You need: the Stream Key plan · the plugin installed and linked, version 0.2.0 or later (Install and link the plugin) · OBS open · 2 minutes

  1. In your OBS, open Tools → EnhancedIRL Switcher….
  2. Tick Allow remote control from EnhancedIRL. The option shows up once that OBS is linked.
  3. In the dashboard, open My OBS and click the name of that OBS (or, in its ⋯ menu, Control this OBS). You land on the Control tab.
  4. Within a few seconds the header says Remote control on and the controls show up.

If your stream is already on that OBS, Where your stream is also has a Control button.

With the option ticked, Enhanced IRL can do this on that OBS, and nothing else:

  • see your scenes and switch the one on air, Studio Mode included (preview and transition);
  • start and stop the stream, with your usual settings;
  • start, stop, pause and resume the recording;
  • see your audio sources, change their volume and mute them;
  • show a preview image of a scene, which is never saved anywhere;
  • read OBS’s statistics and the state of the stream and the recording.

It can never see or change your platform’s stream key, your server or your stream service, any other OBS setting, your profiles or your scene collections; nor create or edit sources, press hotkeys or touch files on your computer.

The plugin itself enforces that list, inside your OBS: it refuses everything else, whoever asks. It’s open source, so you don’t have to take our word for it.

  • Scenes, with your OBS’s list: one tap and that scene goes on air. At the top, Current scene.
  • Studio Mode ON / Studio Mode OFF: with it on, a tap sends the scene to Preview and Transition takes it to Program.
  • Start stream and Stop stream, with a confirmation before anything happens.
  • Audio Mixer: each source’s volume and its mute button.

Next to it (below, on your phone) you have Connection, with the state of Remote control and a Reconnect button if it drops; Live while you stream (Duration, Bitrate and Dropped frames); Recording if OBS is recording, and System (your computer’s CPU, FPS and Render time).

The tab tells you what’s missing:

Controlling your OBS from the dashboard comes with the Stream Key plan Get it with See plans. Moving the stream from one OBS to another is still free
Update the plugin on this OBS Download the plugin and install it over the old one, like the first time

Remote control comes with the Stream Key plan, just like automatic scene switching and the control widget. Moving the stream between your OBS is still free and doesn’t need any plan. Your Cloud OBS doesn’t use this option: you control it from its own page in OBS Servers.
