Cancel and reactivate

Cancelling is two clicks and it doesn’t take anything away from you on the spot: the subscription stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

Just want to pay less? Don’t cancel

If it’s only the plan that’s too much, there’s no need to cancel: move down to the smaller plan in the same family from Billing → Change plan, and you keep your scenes, your settings, your files and your main key. Cancelling is for leaving altogether. → Change plan

Cancelling

1. Go to Billing.
2. On the subscription row, hit Cancel.
3. Read what you’re about to lose, tell us why you’re cancelling and confirm with Confirm cancellation. Changed your mind? Keep subscription.

Picking a reason is required, but one of the options is I’d rather not say: if you don’t feel like explaining, tick that and cancel all the same. The comment box below is always optional. We do read it, and it’s what tells us what to fix.

You’ll see the Subscription will cancel at the end of the period notice. The confirmation window also lists, by name and with links, the keys and the Cloud OBS on that subscription, so you don’t cancel the wrong one.

Note

You’re cancelling one subscription, not the account. If you have several products, the rest carry on exactly as they were. To delete the whole account, see Data and privacy.

How long you keep access

Until the end of the current period. In the Subscriptions table, the Next billing column switches to Will not renew and the row shows Cancels on date. That day is your last day of service; until then everything works the same.

Reactivating before it expires

Until that date arrives, the button on the row is no longer Cancel but Reactivate. Hit it and you’ll see Subscription reactivated: it goes back to renewing normally and you lose nothing — not keys, not the server, not scenes.

Reactivating is free

If you’re not sure, cancel and decide later. As long as the subscription hasn’t expired, reactivating it leaves you exactly where you were.

What happens when it expires

Resource	What happens to it
Stream keys	They go to No subscription and stop accepting signal. If you’re streaming at that moment, the stream cuts out
Cloud OBS	It goes Suspended: it isn’t deleted, it’s kept with its scenes, its settings and its assets
Failover channel	It goes Suspended and stops broadcasting to your destination
Your account	You still get into the dashboard: you can see Billing, your invoices and the plans

Coming back after it expires

Subscribe again from Billing → Get new product. Two things worth knowing:

• Your Cloud OBS comes back. If you subscribe to the same plan, we reuse your suspended server exactly as you left it, instead of giving you an empty one.
• Your key doesn’t. The previous key is revoked for good. The new subscription creates a new key, so you’ll have to copy the publish URL into your encoder again.
