Broadcasting with IRL Pro

By the end, IRL Pro will be broadcasting to your stream key and you’ll see it on Streaming in the dashboard.

You need: any plan with a stream key · IRL Pro on Android · 5 minutes

IRL Pro speaks RTMP and SRT, and broadcasts over a single connection: no bonding. If you carry two SIMs and want to add them up, you have to go SRTLA with Moblin or BELABOX. For street-level broadcasting on a single SIM, SRT holds up much better than RTMP: see Choosing a protocol.

  1. In the dashboard, open Stream Keys and set the Protocol selector to SRT (or to RTMP if your network is stable).
  2. Hit Publish to copy the URL.
  3. In IRL Pro, go into the broadcast settings and pick the same protocol you set in the dashboard.
  4. Paste the whole publish URL into the URL or server field.
    • With SRT, the URL already carries your key inside the streamid. If the app asks for the stream id separately, type publish: followed by your key.
    • With RTMP, the URL already ends in your key: there’s no extra key field to fill in.
  5. Set resolution, fps and bitrate below your plan’s cap (table below).
  6. If you use the app’s adaptive bitrate, keep the maximum below that cap: it’s the ceiling the app will climb down from when coverage goes bad.
  7. Start broadcasting. In the dashboard, the key goes from No signal to Streaming and the Live signal card shows the Current bitrate.
Plan Key cap Reasonable starting point
Stream Key Lite 9,000 kbps 1080p at 30 fps
Stream Key 9,000 kbps 1080p at 30 fps
OBS Basic 6,000 kbps 720p at 60 fps or 1080p at 30 fps
OBS Standard 6,000 kbps 1080p at 30 fps
OBS Pro 10,000 kbps 1080p at 60 fps

IRL Pro reconnects in a loop and the key stays on No signal. The URL is no good. It happens every time you change the key’s Region or Protocol, or after you Rotate: the previous one is invalidated on the spot. Copy it again with Publish and replace it whole in the app.

It broadcasts fine standing still and sinks the moment you walk. If you’re on RTMP, switch the key to SRT in the dashboard and paste the new URL: RTMP doesn’t recover the packets you lose while moving. If you’re already on SRT, drop the bitrate.

The dashboard says No subscription or the key shows up as Revoked. It isn’t the app. The key isn’t active: check its state in Limits and states.
